If you are not a designer or owner of ux blog, then you probably spend most of your online time browsing for certain information. Content is what you are looking for. We bet that you do not care much about design, colors, sidebars, menu and stuff like that. Of course, you probably have a vague feeling about of whether you like it or not; is it usable or complicated as Heidegger’s books. You have landed on some website because of content, not for those “ I am user experience ninja and your website suck” kind of things.

You like a website not because it is well- designed, but because it is useful and has information you are looking for.


Two Sides of Every Ux Blog

Content is, without any doubt, extremely important. However, it is not the only thing you have to care about to have success in online business. You need a little bit more. Blocks of text are maybe great for libraries, but not for modern and attractive websites. You do not believe? Just check out a decent ux news and you will understand what we are talking about.

For example, if you run an e- commerce website or even ux blog, you will need a ton of traffic and, which is maybe even more important, you will need people who will be interested to make purchase through your website. As we just said, original and quality content is something that is understood.  You also need the other piece of puzzle.  If the content is king, then user experience is queen of every online business these days.

However, user experience is not just about design and there are some user experience guidelines you should follow. It is a set of tiny little things that make user to say: “Wow, this website is great. I do not know why is that, but it is fascinating. I must bookmark it and share with others”. O.k. it is probably not the exact reaction you can expect, but you know what we wanted say.

First of all, think about colors, they are very important. Try not to ruin all your efforts with some kind of clownish type of a landing page.  Seek help if you have to because too many colors or aggressive colors can distract visitors and make them leave before Google’s Analytic notice that they even landed on your website.

Use appropriate font and letters that are most appropriate for online users. New Times Roman is o.k. but Sans-Serif is even better.
