Entrances and exits are meant to allow people to walk freely in and out of a building or room. The doors should be open so that one can quickly exit to a safer place in case of a danger.

Emergency doors are very critical when it comes to escaping danger. Sometimes you may find trolleys, ladders, forklifts, and such things in front of an emergency door. You have to ensure all the pathways are clear so that in case of a fire break or any other danger, everyone can easily escape to a safer ground.

Different tools and equipment have labels that give details on the contents or proper handling of a given item. Before you use any item, you must find out the procedure of handling to avoid injuries to yourself or other employees.

4. Reduce Workplace Stress

With the pressures that come with life, if only you had more extended hours, you would love to work past the 24 hr limit.

Research has revealed that most people are working long hours and taking less vacation. This kind of lifestyle has led to stress, declining health, and depression.

Spend some time out. Even if you have a five-minute break, walking out of the office and stretching a bit will do a lot and help you decompress.

Get out, put down your cell phone, a few pushups, and allow your mind to wander a bit before you return to work. That will keep you energetic, and you can tackle even bigger and more involving tasks.

Take some time away from technology.  Research has revealed that people spend an average of 2.42 hours of phone screen time per day, and serious users go even to 3.75 hours. That can quickly drain you and leave you with depression.

5. Be Comfortable

Imagine you’re working for long hours on a chair that makes you bend the whole day. You could quickly develop back pains or injury. Correct posture is not only for those who lift items regularly.

Working on a desk requires that you assume a good position to avoid back, neck, and carpal tunnel pain.

Again, sit on a chair that allows for proper ergonomics- should enable you to sit on a 90 degrees posture. This removes all the weight from the back and distributes it to the legs and other parts of the body. Thus you will be able to work for long hours without straining your back.

If you are involved in duties where you lift things, you must ensure that the legs do the work as you keep your back straight. If whatever you want to lift is too heavy, do not strain- look for a mechanical aid that can help you lift or do it with a partner.

It is upon every employee to do their best to implement the workplace safety measures. However, managers and business owners must provide the training courses that cover a variety of topics. This will ensure that the employees are safe and motivated to work.
