The first quarter of the year has probably seen the most traffic in Fortnite since its initial release. After months of waiting, Epic Games finally released a new season for players all over the world to grind and get goodies out of. But that’s not all, they even made the gameplay even more engaging—from the loot system down to the building mechanic that makes this battle royale game so unique compared to others. To coax you out of your comfort zone, we’ll be providing you three reasons why now is the best time to learn how to play Fornite!

Reason 1: The Content Just Keeps Getting Better

While it’s fairly normal—or even downright required—for video games to have some sporadic updates and tweaks to make the game better, Fortnite actually takes it up a notch. The new season, Chapter 2: Season 2 specifically, covers a lot that players welcome while not being too overwhelming. The newest 12.30 patch goes to show how Epic Games do updates in stride while remaining silent on the key features that players can get to know themselves while playing the game. In patch 12.30, for example, they unveiled two new Fortnite item shop: the Kingsman Umbrella and the Crash Pad. The Kingsman Umbrella is, you guessed it, an umbrella. It can be used to deflect bullets and can even be used to leap off of tall buildings! The Crash Pad, on the other hand, has a much simpler concept. It’s essentially a big inflatable that can be thrown towards the ground to prevent you from taking any damage while falling. These are just two of the many examples of how Epic Games innovates the game and ultimately make it better. All in all, Fortnite is a game that just keeps on giving and it shows no sign of slowing down.

Reason 2: There Are Fewer Hackers

One of the main reasons players quit the game is because of hackers. In 2018 to early 2019, Fortnite was known to have had a cheating problem—a very big one at that. This was the time when players were exposed to hackers that could not only control their accounts but could even hack through their credit cards. This massive security hole led to infuriated players marching down to Epic Games’ customer service and the game is a central hub for cybercriminals to launder money. However, things have improved over time and it now looks like Fortnite is back to its old self again. This might also be connected with the recent surges of hackers in the newest battle royale game, Call of Duty: Warzone. Whether or not it is relevant as to why there are fewer hackers in Fortnite, this is a win-win situation for both the developers and players.

Reason 3: Staying At Home Can Be Pretty Boring

Now is the best time to stay at home more than ever and play video games. With multiple reports around the world enforcing a “stay at home” policy and to practice social distancing, people are left stuck in their homes—utterly bored. What better way than to kill time than play a few rounds of Fortnite? In fact, the World Health Organization (WHO) stated that playing video is an effective way to stop the spreading of COVID-19 and even praised gamers for following the protocol. Note that this was stated after a year where they added “gaming addiction” as part of a list of disorders.

And those are our reasons on why you should start playing Fortnite! Whether it’s to see what the fuss is all about or you just want to try out the cool new Fortnite items at the Fortnite Shop, you can start the game at any time since Fortnite is free for everyone to play!
