From Hollywood blockbusters to online games, the entertainment company Marvel are looking to dominate our screens throughout 2017.

With movies like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, TV shows like Iron First, and licensed games that look to take us to the casino, it seems as though Marvel will be expanding their universe far beyond their humble origins in the comic books.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie will be released in May and will follow up the 2014 hit by reacquainting us with unlikely heroes like the self-proclaimed ‘Star-Lord’ and Drax the Destroyer. And the addition of Baby Groot looks to add a whole other level of merchandising opportunities for this sci-fi blockbuster.

Other cinema hits to look out for include Spider-Man: The Homecoming which will see perhaps the geekiest superhero enjoying his latest revival in July, whereas Thor will continue his muscular conquest of our movie screens when Thor: Ragnarok lands in November.

Of course, it’s not just the box office revenues of these movies that keeps the Marvel operation afloat. This is because the company has been pretty clued-in about how to license these brands in a wide variety of unlikely locations including Marvel stars like Iron Man and Captain American appearing in modern fruit machines at the Coral casino gaming website.

Furthermore, Marvel have been swift to team up with some of the world’s biggest games developers with the likes of the Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite that aims to deliver some heavy-hitting fighting action to a console near you soon.

Even coach potatoes won’t be able to avoid something Marvel-related in 2017. This is because the company have made full use of the explosion in streamed TV companies like Netflix to supply us with plenty of superhero excitement.

In addition to the return of established series like Jessica Jones and Daredevil, Marvel look to broaden their universe with new series like Iron Fist and The Punisher.

Iron Fist will see a vigilante using his super-charged kung fu skills to bring down the criminal underworld in New York, whilst The Punisher acts as a spin-off for the popular Frank Castle character from the Daredevil series who brings his own brand of justice to the residents of Hell’s Kitchen.

And with plenty of other releases and online games to look forward to, it looks like another great year for the all-conquering Marvel Studios.
