The game is played in two formats – 13 card game and the 21 card game. But it is the 13 card game which has out-grown in popularity than its other counterpart.
As said, it is a game of skill but at the same time regular practice could lead you to wins. There are no pre-defined ways to guide you on how to make those sequences or sets. It depends on your skill and few tips and tricks.

1. Form the pure sequence
Your foremost objective has to be to get the pure sequence at the first place. Now, when we say pure sequence it always have be without the joker. As you play rummy online, you get to know more on pure sequences.
E.g. 2, 3, 4 of hearts is a pure sequence; 6, 7, 8 of spades is also a pure sequence.
2. Use middle cards
One of the best ways to inch you closer to win is to use the middle cards more. These are high probability cards and you should be smart enough to make more sequences using them.
E.g. 2, 3 & 4 or 5, 6 & 7 or 8, 9 & 10
3. Use Joker optimally
Joker is one such card in Indian rummy that you could use optimally and declare your game. As soon as you have finished forming your pure sequence, you could use joker to form other sequences and finish your game to victory. Your edge lies in how soon you form the sequences.
4. Discard high point cards
A smart tip lies in how soon you discard those high point cards. Your high cards are necessarily the King, Queen and Jack. The reason you need to discard them is to avoid losing on high points. But, note of caution – In case you very close to forming a sequence with them then avoid discarding them. As you start playing Indian rummy online more regularly, you get better on when to discard or retain them.
5. Watch your opponent’s move
One tip that seems oft-repeated by anyone is to watch your opponent’s move. As good player, you need to be very watchful of your opponent’s game too. In Indian rummy, this basically helps you to gauge the kind of sequences your opponent could be trying.
With some insights into how to improve your Indian rummy game better, it’s time you get started with the game. The more you play, the more you learn.
