As one of the most popular types of video games, first-person shooters have always maintained an enormous level of popularity. This has been greatly helped by some excellent releases we have seen over the years, such as Call of Duty, games that have become household names, and the technology that underpins them has exploded in quality, too.

One of the original first-person shooter games that came to our video gaming screens was Counterstrike, and the latest installment of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CSGO) took place in the year 2000. Although CSGO betting with Bitcoin is a market gathering momentum, Call Of Duty maintains its popularity as the most popular first-person shooter game across all consoles, including PS5, XBOX, and PC.

If you enjoy gambling, it is vital that you only bet with money you can afford to lose and ensure you protect yourself by setting deposit limits and time limits. If you believe you are in a position where you are starting to develop a problem with your gambling, then it is a good idea to confide in somebody close to you or a professional who can guide you in the right direction.

Call Of Duty

There is so many Call of Duty games to choose from, so we will bring them all under one umbrella. 2023 marks the twentieth anniversary of Activision’s iconic and quintessential war game release. The original Call of Duty was designed for the PS3, showing how long ago we were talking.

Even though that is the case, it is still one of the greatest games ever. Commonly regarded as the most excellent first-person shooter game ever made, it has shifted nearly half a billion units across the 21 individual titles it has released over the last two decades.

Call of Duty is a prominent fixture in many eSports tournaments, now one of the enormous subdivisions within the colossal gaming sector. As a result, many analysts and economists have predicted this sector will expand phenomenally despite the current frosty economic climate. Call Of Duty is a game that will continue to fly off the shelves despite a market downturn. It is such a colossal money spinner for Activision that even rumors or whispers of a new version cause gaming journalists worldwide to sit up and take notice.

Doom

With an expansive range of releases from 1993, ID Software has stayed ahead of the curve and released multiple installments of the Doom chapters that have captivated global audiences since the first release came out on the Super Nintendo. Still, it has since gone through several re-releases to great acclaim.

Many consider Doom the best first-person shooter game on the market. Although Call of Duty has blown all of the sales records out of the water, Doom holds a special place in the heart of enthusiasts of this particular genre. But, of course, the most fantastic installment of Doom has to be Eternal, which landed in March 2020. At the time, it was widely acclaimed by critics, but as time has passed, even more, have lauded the game for its graphic design, use of characters, and immersive gameplay.

As you probably know, Doom differs from Call of Duty as the map pans out across a non-fictional realm. Although not all of the maps on Call of Duty are real, plenty is based on real-life battles, and the military mirrors many weaponry and tactics. However, Doom draws on otherworldly graphics to bring an immersive experience for the gamer.

Doom doubles down on that non-fiction element and revolves around the first-person shooter battling demons from hell, and ID Software has scooped a cool $400 million in profit since the release of this landmark installment. This level of profit should give you a good indication of just how popular the game is and of the quality of the title.

Destiny 2

The third and final first-person shooter we will explore today is Destiny 2. Activision first dropped this classic game in 2017 as a pay-to-play game for both the XBOX One and the PlayStation 4. However, a couple of years, when the game was under the label of Bungie, a landmark decision was made to release the game as a free game.

The online world is an expansive map where you can play multiplayer shooting games with and against other players worldwide. One of the critical things about Destiny 2 is that it took many of us by surprise. The initial installment wasn’t a bad game, but nobody expected the sequel to explode onto the scene as it did. The innovative move to make the game accessible online two years after its release is a tactic that many other first-person shooter games have since moved. It is an excellent way to advertise the game by making it available for a limited time only. It has since paid dividends, as Destiny 2 is one of the most popular online games.
